We live in the Rocky Mountains where cold and snow rule 50 percent of the year, so when summertime hits it’s all about being outside. I love outdoor games because they can be used as a simple boredom buster, or they can be combined to provide hours of fun for family reunions, corporate picnics, birthday parties, or backyard barbeques. From simple to extravagant, here are more than a dozen backyard games for any age to enjoy this summer.

It doesn’t get much easier than tic-tac-toe. My daughter turned 6 this year and this is her all time favorite pastime. Kids can even help make the rocks their own way.

Remember Kerplunk? The tabletop version always gets my kids giggling, but this giant version using tomato cages will get everyone involved in the fun.  Cut PVC pipes and spray paint them, stick them into a tomato cage  and fill the top of the cages with Click N’ Play Pack of 200 balls found on Amazon.  How easy is that!?!
